This subseries contains material relating to Clay's early life and education.
Folders 1/1/1 to 1/1/5 include family photographs of her childhood, school life and early married life. There are also photographs from her time as a Fullbright Scholar at the University of Minnesota.
Folders 1/1/6 to 1/1/8 contain personal memorabilia and family documentation including marriage and birth certificates, academic certificates, postcards and other items.
