Miscellaneous General Secretary's papers relating to New Zealand. ca 1835-75. ca 300p.
Scope and Contents
This is a confused set of papers consisting of copies of various letters, some originals, and drafts of memoranda by the General Secretary. Three topics are evident: Bishop Selwyn's relations with CMS missionaries; H. Williams and the land questions; reorganisation of the NZ Mission, 1852. Although the originals of the letters are mostly to be found in the NZ Mission correspondence (C.N./O) and copies in the Mission Books (C.N./M), the copies here are filmed as it is on them that the General Secretary based his findings.
