Correspondence, 1940-1943
Scope and Contents
The following folders contain the general correspondence of New Zealand Building and Allied Trades Federation. Topics covered include the organisation of the Federation and the affiliation of building trade unions, concern at government wartime regulations, printing and distribution of Federation publications.
McAra became secretary of the Federation in January 1942 following the resignation of J. Moulton in December 1941. Even when Mouton was secretary there are a number of letters in the collection addressed to McAra personally rather than to the Secretary of the Federation.
