Biographical / Historical

Te Reiti was living at Mourea. Ngāti Pikiao wen tto Karatia to take her brother, Te Arakau Hapeta Te Pakuru, to the Tūhoe people. She was left on her own at Mourea and was so lonely she composed this waiata.
