Biographical / Historical

The performer states that Parone Ngaruhe, a progeny of Te Tupuhi | Te Aupouri, resisted the sale of 300,000 acres of land to the Government at Te Wairahi, so that the area here was left to Te Arai. Eventually Paraone was taken at Te Oneroa to keep the peace. When Te Aupouri was defeated the old man was clubbed by his enemy.
