Biographical / Historical
According to Pei Te Hurinui composed by Ara for her daughter who died in her teens at Ahuahu on the shores of Kawhia harbour. Dave Mānihera claims the song for John Ormsby and states that it dates back to the latter half of King Tāwhiao's reign.
