Biographical / Historical
The composer was annoyed at her husband and brothers for not supplying her with clothing and so appealed to her daugher, Kinikini, at Tauranga who married the chief, Taipari, of Ngāti Hē, Ngāi-te-rangi. The composer was a great, great, great grandmother of Hamu Mitchell. The singer says teh composer used to look with envy at teh women of Ngāti Whakaue till her confusion wearied her
