Scope and Contents
The correspondence, which consists mainly of despatches exchanged between the High Commissioner and Consul-General, the Agent and Consul and the Tongan Government, deals with the outbreak of hostilities, the restriction of enemy aliens, measures to prevent trade with the enemy, the conduct of the war abroad and the liquidation of German firms, particularly of the Deutsche Plantagen und Gesellschaft der Südsee Inseln (D.H.P.G.)
