Biographical / Historical
The method of catching landcrabs was to lure them by whistling and throwing leaves from an au tree in the month of December when the female crabs are fat before laying their eggs. Line with a loop was used to snare the crabs. A musical phrase was used specially for calling crabs. The singer said he didn't know if the crabs would come for a different tune.
