Biographical / Historical
Tau Eitiara explains, "Ngaroariki had a boyfriend called Tunui. Her husband Ngata heard Ngaroariki singing about this boyfriend while she was swinging on the giant swing. He became angry and pushed the swing so hard that the rope broke and Ngaroariki was killed".
