Biographical / Historical
In the olden times there was a man Ngaru and his wife Tangatea who stayed with the man's mother. He used to bathe in the sea every day. He was very black. His wife didn't like him and ran away. When Ngaru asked his mother why she ran away she answered his wife didn't like him because he was black. He asked him mother how to get white again - she said he should dig a hole and bury himself for three days. He did this, and when his mother opened the hole she found Ngary white again. After this he went to a dance hall where his wife was staying. When she saw him she became shy and ran away again. Ngaru danced with some other women. Two girls were there named Tiri and Tara. The grabbed Ngaru, put him in a sack and carried him to their father Miru. In the bag, Ngaru sang the Pe`e
