Biographical / Historical
These are further pao in the same series as those of Meri Puta (McL 480). The Māori prisoners in Otage were celebrating a catch of fish by the father of Pohau Ellison with a haka and this alarmed the authorities who thought they had run amok. They were reassured by Ellison who told them that the Māori were only happy.
