Biographical / Historical

Te Purewa Awatere | Ngāti Porou, Waikato-Ngāpuhi from Tuparoa Bay composed the first and last verses; the composes of the second verse is unknown. The song is friendly, and is generally sung as a mark of goodwill to guests.
