Biographical / Historical
The song is about a canoe. The canoe came from Aitutaki to Mangaia. It landed at the passage called Aratuki. It came at night and was seen by people who were fishing on the reef. They led the strangers through the passage on the road called Angiangi to the place called O-te-pui at Ravaenga. There they entertained the strangers with this song.
