The speeches recorded on this tape refer to the week of recording from the 16th to 21st July, 1953, at Hiruharama, capturing waiata from elders of Te Aitanga-a-mate, Whānau-a-Rākeiora, Te Ao Wera and Te Whānau-a-Rua.
