Biographical / Historical
The singer explains that in this ceremony preserved pigeons were served first to the old people, to prevent the birds from flying away at night and never returning. The ceremony was last performed at the opening of the ANZAC Hall at Rewarewa Pa, Ruatoki, about 1946. The singer was a leader of this ceremony in his younger days and doubted if anyone else could perform it today.
