Scope and Contents
Recording of a concert held in Tongatapu, Tonga on 4 June 1970. List of items: 1. Tā lali, wooden drum beat used as a station call sign. Tau'a'alo performed by unknown group. 2. Tengihia, '`Ana Lātū'. 3. Two Hiva kakala composed by Sofele Kakala, and Ula, all performed by Fa'onelua group in Lapaha, Tongatapu. 4. Me'etu'upaki performed by Lomipeau group, with Hon. Ve'ehala (Uiliami Leilua Vi) beating the nafa. 5. Tā nafa, or drum beat, demonstration. 6. Mā'ulu'ulu performed by a group of seven women. Includes commentary throughout by 'Uliti Palu. This recording was made by the Tonga Broadcasting Commission radio station ZCO, now known as A3Z.
