Scope and Contents

A collection of typographical specimens representative of the craft of various New Zealand printers and presses. A holograph poem 'Written in Cold' by Robin Hyde is on the reverse of a menu from the "Spotted Dog" in the Unicorn Press file, along with a copy of 'Katherine Mansfield : a critical essay / by Arthur Sewell'. Auckland : Unicorn Press, 1936, signed by the author.

Scope and Contents The papers include personal material, business records, 'Here and Now' file, manuscripts offered to Lowry for publication, and samples of work from most of his presses, together with autobiographical material.It is worth noting that the programmes for concerts and plays arranged chronologically in Section A, have detailed descriptions only until 1948.
