'Echoes of long ago (or the past)' is a description of the life of missionary families in the Hot Lakes District; the visit of Dr Hochstetter, 1859; the flight to Tauranga, 1863; and the assault on Gate Pa, 1864. A typescript transcription is held with the photocopied manuscript.
